Sunday Night Entertainment is a Toronto-based production company specializing in character driven documentary programming for television.

It was established in 2001 by writer, director and producer Scott Harper who has created programming for CBC, CTV, Discovery Channel (U.S., Int’l and Canada), History Television, Channel 5, FX, A&E, TVO, TLC, National Geographic and Granada Television.

In the 2010 hit documentary Lost Adventures of Childhood, he explored the vanishing phenomenon of unsupervised play among children and its potentially tragic results. The film won a Golden Sheaf Award for Best Science Documentary at this year’s Yorkton Film Festival and has been sold in 14 countries.

His other two independently produced documentaries include CTV’s Cake Night, which explores the devastating effects of chemical addiction, as well as Sunday Night, a verite exploration of office life in the 21st century. He wrote and directed the Handel Productions film Double Identity: The Counterfeit Lives of Celebrity Look-alikes for CTV and Friendly Fire, a YAP Films production for CBC’s Witness (winner that year of Gemini for Best Doc Series).

Among the award winning series Scott has produced and directed are CBC’s Who Do You Think You Are?  Discovery Channel’s Casino Diaries, Storm Warning, Outbreak, TLC’s Medical Mysteries and National Geographic’s Underworld.

Last year he wrote and directed six short films for the Winter Olympics with Donald Sutherland. His most recent directing projects for television are Seasons 2 & 3 of a 10 x 1 hour science series for Discovery US and History Canada called Weird or What, starring the legendary William Shatner... and a feature length doc for CBC's Doc Zone entitled  The Age of Anxiety.
